Hi, I am Tanya Lewis, the Founder & Director of, Sunflower Developmental Services and I too, have a disability/ disorder that renders me legally blind.
My Story
Through out, the numerous struggles I continue to face with my own hidden disability,
I don’t let anything get in the way of my eagerness to go above, and beyond to help others.
Since 2007 I have been working in the community with families, building meaningful relationships, skills and knowledge in the “Developmental Sector”trying to make a difference in the lives of individuals with special needs.
I had a dream of opening a Day Program, a place where individuals with intellectual/developmental delays could receive specialized, services that enhanced their quality of life.
In 2013 I finally got that opportunity, and opened Sunflower Developmental
Services, a Day Program, a place where individuals with developmental & intellectual delays can learn, develop, achieve and transition through, the implementation of life and social skills programming.
Skills that, they can use to improve their cognitive ability, knowledge and overall functioning to overcome milestones and gain acceptance in society.
